10 Projects Participate in the “Filmmaking Days of Annaba” Program

Annaba’s Mediterranean Film Festival organizing committee announces the list of selected films participating in the fifth edition of “Filmmaking Days of Annaba” program, scheduled from the 24th of September till the 30th, The principal category for this year being feature-length fiction films.

Thus, ten projects have been selected:

Five directors are competing for the Filmmaking Days of Annaba’s Best Project in Development Prize, valued at 500,000 Algerian Dinars (DZD). These selected projects are:

01 – “The Invisible successor”, by Romanian director Robert Budina, produced by Sabina Kodra.

02 – “El Bastardiya… Once Upon a Time in Tripoli”, by Libanese-Egyptian director Abdallah Al Ghali, produced by Hassala Films.

03 – “Dogmas”, by Algerian director Salah Issaad, produced by Issaad Film Production.

04 – “Minus 40”, by Palestinian director Waseem Khair, produced by Alpha Tango.

05 – “The White Plague”, by Algerian director Karim Bensalah, produced by Alpha Tango.

 

While five other directors are competing for the Best Post-Production Project Prize, valued at 1,500,000 Algerian Dinars (DZD). The selected projects are:

01 – “Chronicles from the Siege ”, by Palestinian director Abdallah al Khatib, produced by Issaad Film Production.

02 – “The Last Days of R.M.”, by Algerian director Amin Sidi-Boumédine, produced by KJ Films.

03 – “Round 13”, by Tunisian director Mohamed Ali Nahdi, produced by Paprika Films.

04 – “An Infinite Number”, by Italian director Carlo Lavagna, produced by Damiano Ticconi.

05 – “Grey Glow”, by Lebanese director Michele Tyan, produced by Sabine Sidawi.

 

Film makers who are participating in the competition will present and discuss their projects before a jury on Sunday, September 28, 2025, as part of the festival’s official program.

Mohamed Allal, President of Annaba’s Mediterranean Film Festival, stated that the “Filmmaking Days of Annaba” competition was the result of collaboration with the Algerian Center for Cinema Development, as part of the efforts made by the Ministry of Culture and Arts to support the film industry. He also emphasized its role as a platform for supporting filmmakers from all over the Mediterranean, offering those presenting projects in both development and post-production stages a valuable opportunity to have their films evaluated and discussed by experienced professional cinematographers. This event opens up new horizons for reaching their artistic ambitions and promoting their films internationally.

It is worth noting that the “Filmmaking Days of Annaba” is the first competition of its kind in Algeria, dedicated to feature-length projects from Mediterranean countries.

The deadline for submitting projects to the “Filmmaking Days of Annaba”program was on Saturday, August 30, 2025.
